I’m only theorising but I don’t think SG1 attention has been
drawn to the East Anglian derby as regularly as one would think.
I wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Barrott or Allison may
well be drafted in for that match..
Happy to be corrected of course.
Agree. With the exception of the play offs the last time that a
SG1 referee was appointed was Lee Probert in 2008. A number of
those appointed to the East Anglian derby have gone onto
promotion to SG1 but Trevor Kettle wasn't one of those. I'm also
thinking that Sam Barrott is the likely contender.
I never realised Kettle had done that match in the past….
Must have been a memorable experience for all fans in the
ground! 😂

Fair enough wouldn’t mind barrott I quite like him. My
prediction for the derby though is a strong sg1 like a hooper or
kavanagh giving the fact that it’s the business end of the
season with Ipswich and Norwich not having space to mess up.
Especially when it looks Leeds aren’t gonna drop another point
this season !

I'm sure he would be but they weren't meant to announce it until
tomorrow.

I suspect the fact that Liningtons string of 4th official
duties, combined with someone on RTR saying a friend of his had
seen Linington in a track suit at one of the referee meetings
doing his coaching exams, has led to speculation that he is
about to take up a new role. Not sure what credence, if any, to
attach to this

There are a few refs in their 20's & 30's who have done their
coaching badges so it's no real indicator of anything. They take
on coaching county CORE groups etc
Just to stop all this speculation about Linny...
78.4% donkeys polled on the IOW stated they refused to share
their pasture with him, the other 21.6% said we're waiting on a
decision from VAR. A spokesman for the PGMOL said "well
obviously we're disappointed, we've been trying to put him out
to pasture for the past 2-3 years but the donkeys are just not
having it. His customised mobility scooter sits waiting for him
in his personalised parking space at Dean Court but every effort
we have made to remove his gold plated name plaque has been
thwarted by some mad woman screaming and ranting about y****w
shirts running us over in her wheelchair. It's a nightmare to be
honest!"
Either that or the fact he had a slight hamstring issue so
missed a few games and went as 4O for a few when he returned
running and strengthening his hammy so it won't tighten up
again.
I'll let you decide which is more likely. Personally I have
always found the donkeys on the IOW to be absolutely brutal!

Referee Herczeg I witnessed 2/3 seasons ago one of the worst
play off final referee performances at Wrexham where he had no
control and lost the players, never felt he was up to SG2
standard but that my opinion.
Alex Chilowicz ex MLS Prem Ref, excellent referee surely with
Webb his old boss, it won’t be long before his on a PL trial
game …

Disappointed to see Welch again on Easter Monday as a
Huddersfield fan, really struggle how she's been put on one of
our games again so soon after a very inconsistent performance
not too long ago, particularly with the magnitude of the game (2
Terrible teams to be fair so not sure what we deserve)but I
guess it is televised. Excited to see Herczeg however!

I’d rather have Welch than Simpson!
