John Brooks: Manchester United v Liverpool (FA CUP QF)

Glad to see Brooks having another good game and not falling for
the somewhat hilarious and desperate antics of Man Utd. However
Fernandes should be off between moaning and fouls and so on. Tim
Wood with some excellent calls as well on AR2.

Gomes being booked for that is interesting after the doku
challenge last week and what happened in the wolves game
yesterday
I’d agree overall though brooks is having a very good game

Antics aside, not sure how Fernandes hasn't received a 2nd
yellow for that foul? Had he not been booked already, a certain
YC for me, so by that logic, poor by Brooks

Absolutely clear 2nd YC to Fernandez missed. Only one reason
Brooks doesn't give that!
He has had a lot of good games this season, when also not having
a lot of big decisions to make. He will learn to make the big
decisions in the big games if he wants to get to the very top

I have been of the impression over six decades that to get to
the very top (in England at least) referees have to learn not to
make the big decisions in the big games.

Not a second yellow for me, he’s slid in and mcallister kicks
his foot.
Have to say brooks has been absolutely fantastic and has
enhanced what has been one of the best qf cup matches in recent
history

Not a good decision at all to give an FK against Maguire there
when he got a foot to the chest.

I agree kicking someone in the chest should be a foul

It’s mainly nit picking really. He’s just overseen one of the
best FA cup games in recent years between two massive rivals,
with a bunch of very difficult to manage players, and made it
look easy.

Taking the game as a whole I thought John Brooks was excellent.
Superb game for the neutral.
