To be fair both keepers were at it , after Luton’s final attack
the clock hit 90 plus 9 exactly , as the afcb keeper caught the
ball , he then fell on it ,laid there stood up waved a bit and
finally released the ball at 90 plus 09:34. So it works both

But there's a big difference here, is there not? A goalie with
the ball in his hands cannot be challenged, whereas a player
shepherding the
Oh dear, so now they're adding time on for incidents while the
ball is in play. I suppose that's easier than enforcing the Law.
Does that mean they can add on time for forwards shepherding the
ball to the corner flag near the end ? The back pass rule,
changed way back, was the biggest single change to enhance the
game. Now a very simple and beneficial change doesn't even
require a Law amendment. Enforce the Law as prescribed.
Sounds like a wonderful occasion and glad the referee
contributed.

season at Crewe Alex, adding on time can be as big a deterrent
for time wasting.

There's no basis in the LOTG for adding time on whilst the ball
is in play. You're right to say that of course a goalkeeper
can't be challenged whilst holding the ball in their hands which
is why the laws specify a time limit for that whereas that's not
the case for keeping the ball in the corner etc. I'm sure any
other SG1/SG2/NL referee would also have decided not to award an
IDFK so it is not specific to this game. But if I'm reading it
right then I'd certainly rather have had an IDFK in the
opponent's penalty area in the 99th minute than anything else!
It will be interesting to see what impact IFAB's trial has on
enforcement - proposal is for time limit to increase from 6 to 8
seconds and attacking team to get corner/throw-in (different
trials will use different system I think) rather than IDFK.

Thanks bmb. One thing I will say, I was diagnosed by NHS Talking
Therapies as requiring intensive support. There is a waiting
list as you can imagine. Seven months! In reality, those with
mental health issues require support from volunteers, charity
groups etc., and those that help are to be commended.
Fortunately I am doing OK and have a lot to be grateful for.
Many are not in that position and need help.

I certainly do understand. MH services funding gets cut year
upon year upon year and as a result waiting lists are
horrendous, there's not enough staff or services available, both
of which ultimately contribute to an increased need for those
services. Never ending vicious circle. We come across so many
issues when trying to signpost people who are above our level of
support.
We started Talking Cherries as one of those groups of
volunteers, the aim to tackle the silence and start the
conversation by talking football. We are all qualified MHFA's
and some of us have further qualifications. Reading now have
Talking Royals who we helped get set up and we're working with a
guy from Luton and another from Birmingham to get similar groups
set up there. I tend to work more with just referees who need
some MH support, some a lot easier than others in terms of the
levels of support they need and if I'm really qualified enough
to be the one helping & all too often even if I'm not it's still
just me, or someone like me, because of the lack of
options/availability of services. The whole system needs a good
shake up and proper investment of funds.
In RTR terms you have me and Charlieboy is also a big
MH/anti-bullying advocate and has a good listening ear. Happy
you're doing ok now but if ever you're not then reach out. That
applies to everyone on here.

Nemesis can you please not use common sense suggestions on here
in future. We all know common sense is outlawed these days. Law
18 was repealed many moons ago...
