Sam Allison AFCB v Luton

Wore blue so is very much in Missy bmb's good books. Handled the
emotional occasion superbly imo. Our 2nd goal was a GLT surprise
- we figured we were going to get a corner but he pointed to the
GLT watch & signalled a goal. Yes there was a game on but to be
honest it was more about celebrating Tom Lockyer being able to
be there & the amazing incredible medical staff who saved his
life. Sadly Dr Craig Roberts wasn't there as he is no longer our
club Dr but was lovely to see Tom on the pitch and the applause
for the medical staff - the real heroes. Tom is lovely just as
an aside. Game of 2 halves - Luton aced the first half, we aced
the 2nd half. I said at half time we were going to win 4-3
and... Barely noticed team ref who got on with their jobs
quietly and very efficiently.
I'm exhausted and off to bed!

Thought Sam Allison was very good last night. Only thing I would
mention is not hurrying Luton along when they were clearly
timewasting. One goal kick took 40 seconds from the time the
keeper had the ball, to execute.

Whilst Twitter should not be taken too seriously I've had
several @'s to tell me Sam was superb, he was the best ref we
have had all season, he was that good he's going to referee a
world cup, he was brilliant and lots of agreeing with the posts.
At least 3 of those who have @ me with such comments are
normally texting me during games saying *&^$£@Y()KJGR$^ about a
decision and asking me to justify it, and then telling me post
match that the ref was dreadful and whatever else so that's
really high praise!

The view may perhaps be tarnished by the terrific comeback by
Bournemouth? To be fair as I have not seen the game, I do not
doubt that he had a good game but I do recall that I have been
so punch drunk after a game my team has won that my objectivity
disappeared!

BMB always gives a very fair and balanced view whether her
beloved Bournemouth win lose or draw. She is one of the posters
on the site who I look forward to reading her detailed and
informative match reports

I watched the game as a complete neutral and cannot think of one
incident Sam handled wrong !infact his approach led to the game
being able to breathe and enhanced it as a spectacle. I thought
he was excellent with advantage and then returning to caution
offender and his foul detection was outstanding. Imo this was
the best display I’ve seen this season. Would thoroughly deserve
a place in sg1.

Good to read - I did not doubt anyone's feedback. Just
expressing my own experience! And failings...

To be fair both keepers were at it , after Luton’s final attack
the clock hit 90 plus 9 exactly , as the afcb keeper caught the
ball , he then fell on it ,laid there stood up waved a bit and
finally released the ball at 90 plus 09:34. So it works both
ways , Sam added it all on and played appropriate stoppage time.
