A Taylor - Bournemouth v Sheff Utd

Comfortably one of the worst penalty decisions of the season -
one to join a long list. Though one I’m not at all surprised to
see Mr Taylor give.
Remind me though, isn’t the whole point in VAR to stop that?
Justice done with the horrific miss.

Username checks out :) I don't think it's an absolutely horrible
decision, it's correct by VAR to support. I understand why some
people prefer another decision in this case because of the
actions of the attacker to buy the penalty, but in reality it's
just clumsy from the defender going into a tackle like that
without looking what's behind

According to Mike Dean it was a definite penalty, said the
defender got a slight touch on the ball but came straight
through the attacker to do so.

In reality it’s was the other way round. Played the entirety of
the ball with a tiny touch on the player. Just let them play

With respect, I'd hazard a guess that a recently retired top
level referee who can watch it multiple times is going to be
more objective than a Sheffield United fan. MoTD will be the
proof of the pudding I guess.

Looked a penalty to me even though I was at the far end of the
ground.
Frustrated by Taylor's inability to deal with blatant
timewasting. Let the keeper get away with far too much before
booking him, and again after doing so. Several times the keeper
had the ball for in excess of 15 seconds. When oh when are they
going to try and enforce the 6 seconds? No point in the proposal
to raise it to 8 seconds as that wouldnt get enforced either.
No arguments with the decision to disallow Soilanke's goal. I
didnt even celebrate it as I saw it hit his hand and by the
Laws, the goal couldnt stand......

Watched it again on a bigger and better screen, I can't see any
touch from the defender at all. The only argument against a
penalty would be the action of Solanke trying to win it, but I
still think even most VARs would intervene in case of no penalty
on the field. And another thing, obviously it shouldn't be taken
into account whether or not a player protests or not, but I'm
also very sure that Davies would've been screaming in Taylor's
face if he indeed got a touch on the ball

I seem to remember thinking on similar lines just before xmas
when Anthony Taylor refereed Villa v Sheffield United, but then
i shouldnt complain too much as we have the master of the art in
Martinez.

Straight through the back of the player. Clear pen (which was
missed at 0-0 and then Sheff Utd were 2-0 up so to the Sheff Utd
posters on here, who's fault was it the game ended 2-2?)

As I suspected, far from it being "one of the worst penalty
decisions of the season" it was an absolutely nailed on penalty.
Just wiped out the attacker, there is no doubt whatsoever and I
would argue it was more a case of being one of the most obvious
penalties of the season.
