Based off of highlights, looked an excellent showing. Great
advantage in the box before the Palace goal, most would've
blown. Good YC call on Kebore. All in all looks good.
Second half as well another brilliant advantage then goes back
for the YC for Berry. He looks the business. Not next weekend as
there's only 4 games, but after Internationals, he better get
another game. That performance deserves the Barrott treatment.

He absolutely was not playing advantage, I can assure you of
that. For starters it wasn't a foul, plus no referee plays
advantage on a potential penalty. He signalled advantage after
the goal was scored and it was all for self congratulation, not
a problem and most referees would have done the same, but there
is absolutely no chance he would have given a penalty if Palace
had missed.

As I have posted on a different thread I do have concerns about
the seemingly accelerated promotions in the medium to long
term.
Far too many current 2A and 2B Officials, I believe, aren't of
the required standard. Not necessarily their fault, more people
being pushed too early, arguably without adequate game
experience

I wondered what on earth he was signalling after the goal and
had to rewatch a few times to try and Identify what he was
playing advantage for… I’m still none the wiser.
Seems like a steady start. I suspect he will get another go
before the season is finished if he gets the same treatment as
Welch, Smith & Allison.

I do not believe Sunny is ERDP so can understand to a degree
those that question the rapid escalation. I worked with him at
Step 1 not even 4 years ago. He is a quiet referee and it will
be interesting to see how that is perceived by players in the
PL.

Does it not say in the BBC piece that participation in Dev Group
has allowed him to go FT and concentrate on refereeing?

Which development group is Sunny then in ? He wasn’t named in
the official PGMOL list for ERDG this season.

He's got the appropriate coaches under him in that they've got
psychologists, they've got everybody there who will be
supporting him and have been supporting him over the last two
years since he's been on the ERDP [Elite Referee Development
Plan].

If a referee plays advantage after a goal is scored and the
PGMOL believe that a penalty would have been the incorrect
decision then I would hope it would be marked down as a KMI
error - after all if the goal had to be disallowed by VAR for
some reason then theoretically they may need to revert to the
penalty decision unless there is further VAR intervention.
Mike Dean seemed unimpressed by Gill apparently signing
autographs at half-time.

Maybe the safest and best option in such a situation is simply
to award the goal and leave it at that.
