Of all the referees on the list he never gives me any
confidence. The second half was probably better, but I just
don’t think he is sufficiently consistent.

Typical all over the place performance from Coote today.
Didnt card when he should have done, carded for inocuous fouls.
Seemed very reluctant to brandish a second yellow to recipients
who deserved it.
Always seems to be surrounded by players, probably as they are
confused as to what he is going to do next.
Always seems like a rabbit in the headlights when games get
tough.
Never fills me with any confidence when i see his name appointed
to a match, but then he never did when he was sg2 either.

8 cautions in a game that wasn’t even that bad. As mentioned
above very inconsistent with foul detection, seeming to give a
foul every time morris went down but not similar incidents when
it happened to Holjund. 3 of the cautions I thought were harsh
as not reckless or SPA. Mainoo caution a joke. Casemeiro
probably should have gone for persistent
He has absolutely zero rapport or management of players giving
either a free kick or just dishing cards out like confetti

Not sure if it was picked up on the TV but his hand went to his
back pocket before he (maybe) realised that he would’ve had to
send him off. A little frustrating considering the yellow card
threshold was set fairly low throughout that game. Eight yellows
for both sides must be up there for the highest all season in
the PL? For what was a fairly clean game bar a few challenges.

Seems to be no discussion that Luton 10 could have been off
before Casemiro for 2YC after his late challenge on Maguire
(having already been booked) which was probably what Maguire was
telling Coote. He also could have gone for his dissent/rant at
the AR on the incorrect offside decision.
As for the Mainoo YC nowhere near a foul let alone a YC
(presumably that would be a blue card / 10 minute sin bin in
future).

Aside from the high profile yellow card incidents, I thought
Coote demonstrated relatively poor control and had no real
rapport with the players.
Dermot Gallagher this morning claiming that the Casemiro
situation was a totting up exercise… Andros Townsend (I think)
made 1 foul and he was booked. The cards were being thrown
around like confetti it felt at times.
Also, time keeping… what happened to the new directives? Or have
they been quietly dropped. Onana and his back line were allowed
to get away with so much game management, from about the 30th
minute onwards. Yet there was barely any deterrent offered.
