I think this appointment is akin to going to a casino, whacking
the whole lot on red and praying for it to come in.
Not quite 50/50 but pretty close.
The powers that be must have seen something to quantify him
given a shot at this stage.
I think a safer clash (and with no disrespect to any clubs)
would have been a mid table contest at somewhere like Fulham,
Bournemouth or Wolves where relegation isn’t an issue this
season, and most definitely not an appointment where there is a
fiery history, or with a team challenging for the prize that is
a UEFA Champions League spot.
This was a big gamble by the PGMOL and I think you will find now
that they will exercise more restraint going forward toward the
business end of the season.

And the likes of Whitestone, Webb, Linington and other competent
SG2 refs must still be wondering what they do to even get a
sniff if a PL game. I can’t honestly see any of them having such
a melt down

Massively kind! Didn't show the deliberate back-pass, non-corner
award and carnage of the last 15 minutes. Didn't even discuss
VAR getting the lines/offside decision wrong or not intervening
for the Villa penalty which were shown, or the non-penalty for
Fulham which wasn't shown. Yes BDR went down theatrically, but
he was clearly shoved in the back by Lenglet

Sky didn’t show any of the fun and games toward the end either.
They did show the corner incident that wasn’t given however.
Without my esteemed fellow Fulham correspondents at the match
and myself, a very different picture would have been painted.

Hasn’t Whitestone deliberately choosen to remain SG2, because of
his police career.

Yes but with the new way of doing things then why not give him a
PL game. At Dean Court please and thank you appointments peeps.

Well that is true, he’s been a reliable SG2 servant for a while,
so as others have said, wouldn’t do any harm to give him a
premier league game here and there.

Sadly Lewis smith now joins Rebecca welsh on the list of not up
to PL level, he has been rushed through.
Put it this way it’s his first PL game and he changes his whole
normal style from FL games which is a strong strict hand, he
changed his style to letting it flow. Big mistake, it’s his
first game players know this and won’t respect him he needs to
be tough and strong and sadly this was not the case today.
Missed a few second yellows for dissent, if he gets another
chance he needs to revert to his Fl style …. But the PGMO gamble
has not worked !
