S ALLISON - WBA v Soton

Corberan sent off inside the first ten for breaching the
technical area and getting the ball before it went out….
I’ve never seen that happen in a televised game before.

Technically correct in law to dismiss the WBA manager but it was
clearly an honest mistake, one I’m sure that manager will never
make again!!
I think he’s started well but it has the potential to be a
tricky game now with the home crowd feeling aggrieved. I think
he judged the potential foul for the goal well and has also made
some good corner /GK decisions

This was always a decent game on paper and now a real test for
Allison. 22 mins in, so far, so good I’d say. Hope he keeps it
going!

Been an accident waiting to happen, only surprised it wasn't
Arteta. It really is very straight forward, stay inside of the
white lines and you won't get in trouble. As I used to say a
lot as 4th official, do you really think they can hear you any
better by being that one yard further forward from your
technical area.

Good on him for actually enforcing it. Twitter full of the usual
why can't he use common sense whilst still demanding consistency
- will they ever learn that you can't have both!

The Corberan decision was correct, but it seemed to take forever
for him to stop play and issue the red card.
For the rest of the first half his decisions lacked conviction
and didn't portray confidence.
More positive body language would have enhanced his authority.
IMO, he appeared to lack authority, which the players picked up
on.
The second half was a better performance, but i'm not sure how
he would have reacted to a more physical encounter.
Overall, I'm sure he has had better performances.
