Leicester City v Sheffield Wednesday Tom Nield

First time I had seen him in action. I think my general opinion
was that he had a reasonable game. I thought there were some
positives and negatives (isn’t there always). Well he was
certainly fit, I thought his positioning was good, and I liked
how he sensibly applied the advantage clause on several
occasions in what were absolutely dreadful conditions.
Cards were pretty much nailed on so no complaints there.
At one free kick it was quickly taken when the ball was
obviously moving. He quite properly had it taken properly.
However, at another free kick the kick was taken when the ball
was moving even faster than in the first example, however he had
turned his back to the ball and allowed it to to betaken.
Consequently, the Leicester fans saw this as irritating
inconsistency rather than a really major game changing error.
I had my doubts about a few decisions in terms of foul
detection, but the vast majority of decisions seemed pretty
       accurate to me.
He appears to have all the attributes to progress well.
A word also for the assistants who I thought performed well.

Presumably apart from when neither of them told him that he had
allowed a free kick to be taken with a moving ball when his
backed was turned! Shouldn't happen when a four-man team are
       mic'd up.

Attended the game as a Leicester fan. I think his overall style
is very strong. Great use of advantage in particular and I agree
that his fitness was very good.
There were some things which were disappointing. The Sheffield
Wednesday number 4 got away with multiple YC challenges which
got the crowd’s back up. There was also a fascinating incident
before half time where he missed a blatant foul by a Leicester
player in front of the dugouts, which it appeared the fourth
official picked up on. It led to a 5-6 second delay in giving
the foul which looked terrible even if they got to the correct
decision. If he can iron a bit of indecisiveness then he can
       really go far.

Thought it was a strange performance as those above have
described, positional play and overall fitness is great.
Decision making is very random and looked messy at times.
Let Will Vaulks away with 2 clear cases of SPA and then clearly
kicking the ball away. Then booked Winks in the second half for
doing the same thing. The missed foul by Mavididi just before
half time looked very poor, let the game go on for at least 6 or
7 seconds before blowing for the foul.
Reminded me of Chris Kavanagh the way he moves around the pitch,
who incidentally we will be seeing on Saturday, so could be an
       interesting comparison.

The only surprise I have is the Wednesday players didn't miss
when trying to kick the opponents 😒
