15 mins in at Wycombe, Simon Mather replaced by Marc Wilson -
not sure what the issue is.

David Rock, Crewe v Harrogate. Last time David was at Crewe,
poor. Today, poor. Never cut down on the Harrogate time wasting
mainly by the keeper. It was a joke how long he was taking in
the second half. Bottled a second yellow for SPA, which was a
textbook yellow not given for Harrogate. To make matters worse,
with several injuries, subs and time wasting, only 3 (yes, 3!)
mins were added. Now that burst the bubble for me. First day of
the season, easily 10 mins would’ve been added. I thought 6 mins
were fair but no. What the 4 officials were thinking behind that
I don’t know. 3 mins were also added in the first half where
much less was happened. Our manager also got sent off after the
game for rightly complaining at a weak referee.

It’s a good looking game for David Rock as well, between 2 teams
punching above what most thought would be their league
positions. Nice looking games for Tom Reeves at Derby (as well
as an EFL Trophy semi) and also for Sam Purkiss at Stadium MK.
Jeremy Simpson for us, his first game involving Colchester since
2016 and first at home since 2013. Unfortunately I won’t be
there, but hope he outperforms the general reputation he tends
to get on here!
17 yellows and 3 reds in his last two games…. So I wouldn’t
expect it to end 11 players each! 😂😛
Another red card today…

Spot on as well, very quickly after the second half. If it’s not
intentional, it’s certainly dangerous enough for a red. Wasn’t
there today so not sure on the general performance but that
incident was handled correctly.

Not sure, other than it was a bald man, which doesn’t really
narrow it down! The other assistant, Matthew McGrath, was
officiating in back to back Colchester games.[attachurl=1]

"Our manager also got sent off after the game for rightly
complaining at a weak referee". Really? So its OK to abuse a
referee because he is "weak"? Weak in the opinion of a manger
who (i) is not an objective observer and (ii) should know full
well that there is an established channel for providing feedback
on a match official's performance (and it is not shouting at him
from the touchline).

I think that is actually Robert Hyde, perhaps he wasn’t moved
after all.

He wasn't. Daniel Robinson did the line at Crawley instead of
4th

Entering the pitch to confront a match official, including at
half time and full time, is a mandatory red card. Doesn't
matter what he thought about the decisions, there's a protocol
for speaking to the referee and / or making a complaint, it
isn't marching up to the officials after the game.
