Blue cards already used here for 5 a side sin bins. Would be
very useful for clarification of sin bin offences.

There are far more important law amendments that need to come in
(CONCUSSION SUBS).
IFAB need to remember that what makes football so widely
accessible is its simplicity, yet every year we seem to make it
more confusing to the masses.

I used to sin bin players when I refereed fan's matches and it
was extremely effective. I think it would work well at grass
roots level because you can lay down a marker early on and for
me, it made the game easier to referee.

It's ten minutes of playing time. A source of
confusion/irritation to players, coaches and spectators I must
admit but it does discourage the reduced team from hoofing every
clearance half way to Hawaii

When sin-bins first came in at Supply League I felt they were
used well and in the main there was an improvement on dissent
towards officials.
Now however, I feel that a large number of referees feel that
given the sanction is more severe than a caution, they set a
much higher tolerance level to dissent than previously.
As such, I do not think it has improved matters, in fact I think
it has made it worse.
I do not think anything will be different at the top level.

I assume a similar situation must have happened in leagues that
have trialled or are already using sin bins…i just wondered what
would happen if a goalkeeper received a blue card?

I imagine an outfield player would have to go in goal, then swap
back after the GK is able to return. The team could use a sub
and bring on a GK (assuming they have a sub GK on the bench) but
that would mean one of them (the original GK or the sub GK)
playing as an outfield player after the 10 minutes is up.

As someone who is involved in the running of a league, it is
clear when they were 1st introduced they were used widely.
However some years on they are now in comparison rarely used.
I think the blue card is a good idea to inicate the sin bin but
not for the 'cynical fouls' as proposed.

Not a fan of the idea, if referees are reluctant to use a yellow
card what’s going to make them use a card with a higher sanction
and that’s before we discuss the issue of the impact of
inconsistency is bigger, the way timekeeping is doesn’t go well
with it and it will just further slow things down
