Blue cards for football

Just seen that law makers are looking into blue cards for sin
binning offences, such as dissent and cynical fouls.
Trials to begin in the women’s FA cup and possibly the FA cup
next season.

Cynical fouls however.... come on that's ruining the game.

What's the definition of a "cynical foul"? Could be very
subjective and thus lead to yet more so-called "inconsistency"?

I can only support the blue card for dissent. That is fairly
clear and factual if you ask me, whereas cynical fouls would be
too nebulous.
If the powers that be want to stamp out this argumentative
nonsense with officials then the sin bin is a fairly good
deterrent.
I wonder if the coaching staff will be eligible for such a
punishment too if they introduce it.

If we must have sin bins, and I really wish we didn't, I would
fully support the use of blue cards to signify their imposition.

Most of the competitions I referee in have sin bins
At present sin binning is demonstrated by showing the Yellow
Card just like every other caution with a verbal advisory that
it's a sin bin situation.
For me a different card will help inordinately

Whilst they are at it, they could really simplify the sin bin at
lower levels already in place.
Ie sin bin x2 = red
Sin bin + yellow = red
Yellow x 2 = red
At the moment it’s unnecessarily complicated on sin bin + yellow
combinations.

Just an attempt by the law makers trying to complicate things
further and make things even more subjective and inconsistent.
Just apply the laws as they stand correctly.

Absolutely. Both offences carry adequate sanctions. Shame the
referees choose not to use them.
If implemented, watch the time wasting ramp up when a team is
down to 10 or less.

I'm not convinced now's the right time to look at trialling
something like this - I think it would be better to try and
improve current laws and their implementation.
Is it simply 10 minutes or 10 minutes of playing time? If the
former then you can envisage a lot of negative football/tactics
during the period.
If the referee plays an advantage then there might be a big
disparity as prsumably no blue card required.
