Agree with everything you’ve said. That drop ball was stupid.
And again, he seemed to give everything to Tranmere in the last
few minutes which meant our #9 got booked for complaining and
rightly so. He was being punished for some very very soft fouls.

9 minutes to be precise which must be one of the quickest
abandonments of modern times on the EFL. There was a brief sight
of the pitch on the local news after the game was abandoned, and
whilst I would have some sympathy with David, I don't think the
pitch would have been playable at the start of the game, just
9-10 minutes before it was abandoned. The rain was heavy
yesterday but it was not a sudden monsoon. Perhaps David could
have waited a bit to see whether conditions improved, as I
recall Mr Horwood did at Gresty Road a few years back.

I’ve only seen a brief clip but Ian Evatt said the referee made
the right decision to start the game and the right decision to
call it off, so if even he didn’t complain about the decision,
I’d guess it was probably correct!

It does sound as though from those present that the match should
never have started. It was a dry day in these parts until early
evening. Cambridge University recorded a quarter of its average
February rainfall between 7:30 and 8:30 which was rather
unfortunate for last night’s match and those attending.

Point taken, and it sounds as though David Rock, along with the
players and fans, were just very unlucky.

There was some controversy last night around the Walsall v
Morecambe , mainly about the 'lateness' of the postponement as
the amount of rain seemed to have caught everyone by surprise.
Appears the officials did their usual arrive at the ground and
walk around the pitch and then called for an actual inspection.
They returned on the pitch at around 6.15pm with boots on and
seeing if the ball rolled/bounced. At that point and from the
videos posted online by the Morecambe media it appeared to me
the pitch was just about on the playable side of borderline.
That though, was with over 3 hours until the match was due to
end and with rain steadily falling and forecast to continue,
which it did, and very heavily at times in those 3+ hours.
Ultimately the right call was made by Craig Hicks and team, hard
as it was for the fans around and on the way at that time,
especially the Morecambe fans who braved the trek down M6 during
rush hour to get there.

In fairness to Mr Rock the local news reports that 1 area had
been a concern before KO but stadium team had worked hard on it
and they did have a "monsoon" shortly after kick off
