Sunny Singh Gill - SU vs BHA FAC
DIR By: Blade
Date: January 27, 2024, 11:24 am

A surprising risky “promotion” giving him this tie,
unfortunately backfired. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to
describe it as a car crash from start to finish to be quite
honest.
Two incorrect penalty kicks, foul detection random and bizarre,
and often deceived by BHA players. No authority over the game
and players throughout, his SG1 ARs and the fourth official were
visible trying their best to help control the game from their
vantage points.
Certainly not ready for permanent promotion soon.

I thought both penalties were penalties, one for a clear foul
and one for hands.
If they weren’t penalties, why is VAR not sending him to the
screen?

After watching the penalties back after returning home
(previously only seen them live and on replays on stadium TVs),
I’d like to change my opinion from “incorrect” to debatable. You
can understand why they weren’t seen as clear and obvious
errors, however very soft indeed.
That being said my stance on the general match performance of
the referee remains unchanged.

His performance is irrelevant. The aim of the appointment was
achieved, a good performance would have been a bonus.

I watched this one and both penalties were spot on. The first
one Bogle carelessly caught Joao Pedro, the second one Bogle
realised that Ferguson had a free header and led with his arm in
desperation, once that hit the ball it could only possible be a
penalty.
I really can't think of many things Sunny Singh Gill got wrong,
something that certainly cannot be said of the Sheffield United
players who were hapless to a man.

How is his performance irrelevant?
Would you say that every refereeing performance is irrelevant or
just because of who was appointed to this match?

It was an FA cup tie so an FA appointment and not a pgmol
appointment.
There may have been discussions between the two bodies prior to
the appointment but still FA appointment.

I'll use the same argument that I used the last time you posted
this nonsense. Sam Barrott has been fast tracked at a rate
rarely seen before, gone from National League to being trusted
with the top teams in the country in little more than 3 years.
He's a white Englishman, so why aren't you commenting on his
meteoric rise being undeserved?

Was there a big press release when he refereed his first premier
league game???
Let’s assume you answer No.
So then it’s different isn’t it??
Outside from his ability as a referee nobody had anything to
gain by speeding him through.
