Female Assistants

The Bradford City vs Doncaster Rovers BSM Trophy Quarter-Final
match has two female assistant referees; Emily Carney and Lisa
Rashid.
Is this the first time that a men's competitive match between
two EFL clubs has had two female ARs? I'm struggling to think of
one.

Shame the referee isn’t female as well as that would of been
definitely a first a full set of female officials on a men’s
game

For some reason I had a match at Cheltenham in mind where this
has happened previously.
The link below has Amy Fearn and Sian Massey-Ellis having
assisted Darren Sheldrake on a match between Cheltenham and
Morecambe in November 2010.

I have yet to find anything else in relation to the assistants
for that match.

Still about officiating in women's matches. Seen her ref a few
times over the years in the WSL/Women's Championship, and was
fourth official at the West Ham vs Spurs WSL match on Sunday
evening that I was at.

She received an MBE in the Honours List last June.

Miss (Amy) Rayner, as Mrs Fern was then known, was part of a
team of 3 female officials in the Nationwide Conference (now
National League Premier) last century! (August 1999), lining to
Ms (Wendy) Toms, with Mrs (Janie) Frampton on the other line.

Wendy Toms was my "if you see it, you can be it" role model back
when I first qualified as a ref.

On a side note both Natalie Aspinall and Sian Massey Ellis seem
to be operating in the Championship this season var appointments
aside
Personally find it a tad surprising give the recent
announcements regarding the push for diversity from the powers
that be, that two of the most capable female officials seem to
be operating at a lower level. Any thoughts ?

Massey Ellis has been injured for a long while I believe.
Aspinall…maybe now Allison & Welch have come along her
marketability has dropped???
