Absolutely superb so far on field from England. Good Var call
from Salisbury not to give handball for the 3rd Brentford goal.

Very good from England tonight… just the kind of game to get him
back into the fold after all the prior events that have
occurred.
Well done to him.

Only criticism of him tonight was choice of colour kit to wear,
it seems as bmb’s favourite is in use this weekend, the one that
matches the ball.

Luckily the one matching my cold toes will be on display from my
thankfully sheltered seat when storm Isha hits Dean Court mid
match tomorrow!
Didn't watch this game but glad to hear Darren England had a
good one, he really needed it for his confidence. Happy for him.

Not totally relevant to the thread, but can someone please
explain why Ivan Toney, a player who was banned for admitting to
232 breaches of FA Rule E8 and yet was treated like a returning
'war hero'? I could understand if he'd returned from a career
threatening injury, or life threatening condition, but he was
banned for wrongdoing, yet Brentford and the media especially
was almost orgasmic over the whole thing.

(Content removed for rule infringement)
For those on RTR who are unaware, Brentford were awarded a free
kick just outside the Forest penalty area. The ball was put in
place and the location duly marked by Darren England. The Forest
defensive wall positioned itself in relation to the location of
the ball but just before Darren England blew for the kick to be
taken, Ivan Toney repositioned the ball twice to the right (a
total distance of about 2 feet) which enabled him to bend the
ball around the side of the wall and score. There's no doubt
that he gained a very unfair advantage by his actions and as we
know, Brentford went on to win the game.

Yes, I did see someone post the incident on X. I wouldn't call
it cheating in the same vein as being banned for cheating,
because the majority of players seem to do the same, gain small
advantages with repositioning the ball, but it should've been
picked up by VAR, but quelle surprise look who was VAR!

Mixed views on this one judging by comments made on the media. I
for one am not sure what the rules are but the Forest wall must
take some of the blame. They weren't alert enough and indeed
could have alerted England and delayed the kick.

Not reviewable by VAR.

Yes, I'm surprised Forest players didn't complain to Darren
England too.
