So if there is no VAR in use, using your logic, the player is
either on or off ------in whose opinion? :)

With no VAR it is down to the naked eye of the assistant, and it
is nigh on impossible to be sure either way when we are talking
millimetres.
With VAR the software is sophisticated enough to go down to
those few millimetres and get it right.

Are you 100% sure that the camera speed and software is quick
enough to get it 100% correct or are we just relying on other
opinions which also can't be 100% sure because the equipment
that they are using is not quite up to the mark?

Don't know full technical details about it, but if it is going
to be used they will have to take the line that is drawn as
being 100% accurate. They can't use VAR and show that a
player's foot is 5mm offside but allow the goal to stand because
the technology might not be accurate enough.

Or guess wrongly like the Tottenham Chelsea game where VAR
overruled the ARs correct decision because the camera wasn't in
line.

I think the officials have to trust the technology they are
given - it feels like it would be opening a huge can of worms if
one official decided to ignore the VAR offside line because they
doubted its accuracy.
The authorities obviously need to make sure that the technology
is as sophisticated and accurate as possible.
