There were two refs on the F A cup ties plus an avar.
Refs were Pawson and Salisbury, acc to F a site Pawson was var
and Salisbury Svar

My faith in VAR has now hit a rock bottom new low after that
challenge by Gusto.
He’s got history of poor challenges like that and was red carded
by Gillett for a similar challenge this season after VAR came
in..
It’s a clear red card and let’s make no bones about it… a
dreadful level of incompetence shown by the VAR.

Have to agree there, to me another case of an official not
recognising SFP right in front of them.
I guess pgmol will say its low so doesnt reach the threshold of
a red card, to which i would say its ok to break someones ankle
but not ok to break someones leg and the time out injured would
be the same if not career ending. To be clear i am not saying
the chelsea defender deliberately went out to break Willians
ankle its just the consequences.
Gusto saw red on review for a similar foul v Aston Villa at
stamford bridge in september

I was going off the BBC report of the incident which states it
was Salisbury. Even if he was support VAR he should share the
blame !

I eagerly await the day when they have a third Video Assistant
Referee and another Additional Video Assistant Referee.
Surely they would get everything correct then --wouldn't they? I
won't hold my breath!

Having seen the highlights, Gusto is lucky not to be sent off as
the point of contact is studs on ankle and does not win the ball
either. I also think it's a penalty as the defender has slid in
and caught Sterling.

They won’t ever get things correct because in most cases correct
simply doesn’t exist. People surely must realise that correct
doesn’t equal what they think. It doesn’t work like that. How
many more years are people on here and elsewhere going to spend
their lives berating VAR because they don’t agree with
something. To all those people who do that….aren’t you bored
yet???
This site is all about opinions but where is the balance and
credibility??
I often have a different opinion from whatever actually happened
in a game but that doesn’t make the standard of refereeing
appalling or the VAR system not fit for purpose.
