Listed online as born in Wakefield, 14 miles from Huddersfield..

How many more times will this come up. It is totally irrelevant
where a referee is from, a referee born next door to
Huddersfield's ground is still perfectly entitled to referee
them. They are only excluded from teams they support.

Could you tell us which online source, please. Charlieboy? The
only birth I have found is for a Thomas Daniel Nield, born 1991
in Huddersfield. This may not be him, but it seemed to tally,
though whether the referee has Daniel as a middle name, we know
not.
Certainly, Tom was born in Yorkshire, but moved to North
Walsham, Norfolk, where he achieved promotion to Level 3, just
before moving back North, where he was at one stage resident in
Thongsbridge, I believe.
He certainly used to work at Pinderfields Hospital at Wakefield/
