sam Allison and Rebecca welch

having seen these 2 given their prem debuts could we then see
them get a 2nd trial game which could then lead to being
permanently at the top table alongside Taylor Oliver jones
Pawson as the reviews they got from there first outing were
positive
hopefully they will get that 2nd appointment before they seasons
out

The reports of both debuts in the Premiership seem to be very
positive so I would be amazed if Mr Allison and Ms Welch do not
receive a further Premiership appointment this season; quite
possibly more than one.

They are going to get further appointments almost regardless of
their performance levels because of what they represent and the
visual value they achieve for PGMOL. Surely that’s the
reality? Not remotely am I saying they are not good enough, just
unfortunately that they appear to be being used for PR reasons
which is I think a shame for them because as much as they are
probably chuffed to be getting the chance will they not always
wonder did I really get here because I am good enough??
Had they have been allowed to naturally progress then any
questions probably wouldn’t have arisen.

I agree with you both-smithy and whistleblower-i hope they get a
few more appointments and be like England and Robinson who are
now getting prem appointments most weekends woulds be nice to
see them get a big 6 fixture as it will send a clear message
from the premier league especially if welch gets one

If and when Mr Allison and Ms Welch receive more Premiership
appointments then we can better judge their progress. Slightly
tangentially, it is clear that Sam Barrott ( whom I shall see in
the Spurs v Burnley FA match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
this evening ) is regarded as having made excellent progress
judging by his appointments. Thomas Bramall however does not
seem to have been given such an opportunity to establish himself
at the highest level. I wonder why ? He always seems to have
decent enough performances.

Michael Salisbury was also picked for greatness ( wasn’t there
surprise when he got promoted having not done any really big
championship games or playoffs ??) but maybe hasn’t given the
returns for the investment put into him??
It’s the new way. People seem to be getting picked now and then
put in an almost guaranteed promotion path for all kinds of
reasons. Wasn’t like that in the old days???

There was a time, many years ago when some referees were
double-promoted up to the National League (or "Panel" as it was
then). They promoted about a dozen referees and a couple made
it whilst the rest crashed and burned. I guess the powers that
be thought this was a good idea at the time,
