I also think there was an element of guesswork in his decision
as he appeared to be slightly peering around players or at least
one player so probably didn’t have a perfect view and based on
the information he was likely to have that will always I think
look red rather than yellow.

So taking everything into account probably not the worst
decision of the season so far????

Two footed challenges, off the ground, forceful have no place in
the game.
Until referees sanction these types of challenges with red cards
whether or not injury is caused they will continue to blight the
game, however i blame the bosses for introducing so called
mitigating circumstances.
I similarly blame officials and their bosses for the amount of
players falling over dramatically as they very very very rarely
penalise fouls where the player on the receiving end stays on
their feet.

I can accept people saying they don't agree with this, that they
think it was soft, but I just don't get comments like worst
decision of the season. There is absolutely zero doubt that the
player left the ground, and in doing so he gave the referee a
decision to make. It looks worse from some angles than others,
but bad luck for the offender it looks worst from pretty much
the exactly angle that Darren Bond had.
Remember we are not in the 1970s or 1980s anymore, if you leave
the ground and make any contact with the opponent, even if you
win the ball first, you are in real danger of getting sent off.

This is what he has seen. Irrelevant that he touches the ball
first, he goes over the top of it and IMO it's clear serious
foul play - endangering the safety of the opponent.

I think he is actually saying: "I'm thinking red" over comms to
his colleagues.

Tyler Morton's dismissal has been overturned on appeal. That's
fine in itself but it's a shame there's no protocol (that I know
of) to reduce a dismissal to a caution at an appeal hearing,
meaning he's now received no punishment for the offence which,
in my opinion, deserved a caution minimally. I'm sure that "back
in the day", there were cases of some dismissals being reduced
to cautions on appeal? Do they deem the dismissal on the day as
sufficient punishment maybe?
