Probably not a good idea to have Woolmer refereeing Norwich only
six days after the touchline bust up when he was fourth
official, especially if he identified the wrong Norwich coach,
as has been suggested.

A tasty W Midlands derby for James Linington and a South
Yorkshire derby for Darren England who seems to be making good
progress as a SG2.

god to see Robert jones back in action after his injury, think
he is one of the best is sg2 at the moment

I like Linington as a Ref and notice that he has picked up a few
good matches in recent weeks. Also has Derby v Millwall next
Tuesday. One I would like to see given a chance in the PL and i
know bmb agrees

Linington is a referee who sits between the (very) small group
of good SG2 referees and the swathe of absolute dross.

I noticed Rob Jones refereed at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
It looked like he had a good game from the highlights I watched
on Sky. Only had 3 cautions too in a game that was very feisty
in the reverse fixture, and also gave a correct penalty second
half. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him given a chance in SG1
soon

Apologies to Nemesis, I didn’t mean to dislike your post, my
finger hit the wrong symbol and now I can’t remove the rating!!
Absolutely spot on, the dross in SG2 is well established and the
only ray of sunshine is Madley and Jones. Bankes is hit and miss
and as for Simpson...
