Both ARs are at their best as well. Love it. Have a major soft
spot for Dan. Not sure he’ll get a very deserved white badge
though, I think we have a full AR quota right now, so unless
someone is standing down?

Purely a guess, but it looks like Hatzadakis is pursuing a
career as a referee in the lower leagues, so potentially a spot
could open up.there soon. Dan is surely number 1 candidate,
however the likes of Mainiwaring, W Smith and Hopton could also
be competition.

No fuss, good communication great positioning and was right with
the penalty. He gave a great advantage and yes the team said
they will have Kavanagh back claretman 😜
Both Assistants were really good as well. I have always rated
the 3 officials today and today they were really good.

Is it not supposed to be contact with consequence these days and
the days of slight contact and players going down like they’ve
been shot ended?

Could be the injury was hampering him.
I thought it was a penalty, however I think Isak thought he
wasn't getting it and threw himself down to make the point, or
make sure it was checked - I know you can't but I'd love a ref
to give the penalty and book the player for taking the p***.
Thought Forest were excellent as an aside.

I really like Chris Kavanagh as a referee as well as both ARS
Simon Bennett and Dan Robathan. What Kav has that most referees
don’t is the ability to talk to players. Referees like
Coote/Bankes and Tierney just result in throwing round cards.
I’d like to see Kav get a cup final, preferably him and Brooks
for the cup finals. Could use Mainwaring and Robathan/ Sian if
she comes back the Premier League.
Also, would like Robathan to replace Hatzidakis and see Kav get
some EL knockouts and ECL knockout games with Bennett and
Robathan. Alternative would be Bennett and Betts for now

FWIW, I didn't think it was a penalty. Purely from the pov that
initially I thought it definitely was, then there was an angle
that I thought it definitely wasn't a pen, and then another
where I thought, oh actually it possibly could be. So much
ambiguity and uncertainty surely meant that Jarred Gillett could
not comfortably reach the mark of it being a clear and obvious
error.
I also thought the advantage for the Wood goal was insane. The
crouching down, holding the whistle told everyone watching he
was blowing, he was ready, then he put his arm out and Wood
bagged it. Such a great example of delaying the whistle until
the absolute last second. ( Simon Hooper are you watching?)
Also, notable mention to Si for the great non offside flag when
I think everyone in the stadium and watching at home thought it
was offside. I agree with other posters and agree that this is
really shaping up to be the PL dream team atm.
Just wondering wishfully for the end of the season and if Kav is
line for FAC Final this year, would that preclude Simon from
being included in the Final team?
