The last SG2 we had was Barrott a few weeks ago at Luton and he
was decent hopefully Josh can be as good at the weekend although
unfortunately I can’t watch due to work and he is better than
England’s best who we had tonight who was poor

Do you have any positive thing to say about any Referee? Or
rather, is there any Referee you would want to see appointed to
your team for your 38 matches? If you are not a Referee
yourself, I would strongly suggest you take up the whistle soon
so we could have a faultless Referee to admire.
It's 2024 soon.

I have posted positive things in the past about referees and I
did say Oliver is Englands best just poor last night, I also did
say Barrott was good for us a few weeks back, I do also wish in
2024 that VAR actually get decisions correct as recently apart
from the penalty we conceded last night as it was stonewall, the
VAR decisions are going against us, barring the 2 ball out of
play incidents I still maintain both were out, we should of had
at least 1 penalty last night if not 2 chelsea got one for the
exact same thing we didn’t the night before so I just want VAR
to be more consistent and get decisions right

Said it before, but the vast majority of fans are incapable of
sensible and subjective thoughts and comments when it comes to
the refereeing of their own team, especially not in the
immediate hours following the game. I include myself in that
even as a referee of over 25 years, but that is why I will very
rarely post on decisions in a game Wednesday are playing in
(not that anyone would have seen it anyway 😂)
Most neutrals will think that Michael Oliver was very good last
night, yet Arsenal fans will slag him off because they perceive
that decisions went against them. They've been calling
talkSPORT all day in their droves, some even claiming that they
can prove the ball went out for the first goal which is clearly
nonsense.

I agree with you (as usual) rustyref and, on hindsight, I was
perhaps guilty of that when commenting adversely on Andrew
Madley following the red card to Ayew in the Palace v Liverpool
game. However, I also think that RTR can be a very useful tool
for letting off steam in the aftermath of a game such as P v L
and also a useful tool for counter-arguments to be put forward
by fans who have no axe to grind on a particular incident or
incidents. And, provided the comments are constructive and not
questioning someone's integrity, I don't think that can do any
harm.

Agree, but certain members only seem to come on when their own
team has potentially been on the wrong end of a decision. And
blindly claim the referee was wrong even though all evidence
very much says otherwise.

As a counter argument I would really prefer not to see that
happen. That’s not a personal comment towards either of them as
individuals or referees but it’s clear and obvious to say that
they are being used as PR pawns by PGMOL which sort of hampers
the integrity of their appointments.
Had they both have been allowed to progress naturally as opposed
to on the hurry up then I doubt there would be any questions
raised.
