Hooper had his back turned and was some distance away, but
called the medics on as soon as he was alerted, rather than
waiting to get to the player himself first, and they were
already sprinting across the pitch. Rather than going over to
check if Lockyer was ok, since it was already pretty clear he
wasn't and there was nothing more a ref could add to that
situation, he rightly stayed well out of the medics' way and
focussed on making sure the players gave them space too. He
handled it well from the place he was on the pitch at the time
it happened.
The news that Tom is stable is great to hear and I hope he
recovers well. Must also praise everyone involved. As a
supporter in the stadium today, I'm still a little shaken. I can
only imagine what it was like for those directly involved or
closer to Tom and I hope they're given the support they need.

First of all we all wish Tom well, thoughts are with him and his
family, friends and colleagues, heres hoping he makes a speedy
and full recovery.
Hearing he is stable in hospital receiving great care is great
news for him and his family.
Sadly it seems this may be the end of his football playing
career.
High praise should be given to the medics, bournemouth and the
match officials for the way they dealt with extremely difficult
circumstances.
At times like this we all appreciate that life is far more
important than the game we all love, thank the lord for all the
modern medical facilities that are at football grounds in this
modern age.

I was in the East stand today, right by the barrier between home
& away fans. Was very difficult seeing their fans so distressed
and not be able to do anything. Did you notice after they had
stretchered Tom off that someone came round and checked on all
the ball boys? Making sure they were all ok. Great gesture
whoever arranged that.

Best wishes to Tom. What an awful thing to happen.
I hope everyone who was there will get the support they need in
processing such difficult events. From a refereeing perspective,
I note that Hooper and Long, as well as the VAR team of Coote
and Wood, are due to be involved in officiating matches on
Sunday. If any of them wish to be removed then I hope that can
be accommodated, as happened with Howard Webb after Fabrice
Muamba's collapse in 2012 when he was meant to be FO the next
day.

Well said, was also in Fir Park that day, forever etched in my
memory. This looks to be heading towards a happier ending.
