Correct VAR intervention by Michael Oliver to disallow the
Nottingham Forest equaliser for offside- not sure why it took so
long. Was clearly offside and should really have been spotted by
AR2 Derek Eaton (would have helped if he wasn't completely in
the wrong position, 5 yards behind of the last defender)

Bissouma has to go for that challenge. Disgraceful.

Yes, swift and efficient work from Oliver in the VAR booth to
recommend the review.
Other than that, not too much to comment on apart from a poor
offside decision (due to poor positioning) by AR2 for the Forest
disallowed goal.

He looks good and for once the VAR intervention added decent
value. I particularly like his stance on non-footballing
actions.

What’s the difference between Bissouma and McAllister earlier in
the season then? It is not how to tackle from Bissouma, he
should know better, but that isn’t going to cause anything
beyond a gash to the knee!
Murillo then with a clear second yellow card offence unpunished.
Mr Gillett and Mr Oliver not exactly Spurs’ friends tonight.
Even Postecoglou is perplexed…

Not sure Spurs are going to have a team to field against Everton
next week. Mr Dyche watching on will be loving this, and I’m
sure encouraging his players to do more of the same next week!

A good performance from Jarred Gillett but he did miss a couple
of yellow card offences…..Romero should have been cautioned for
stopping a promising attack and Murillo was lucky he wasn’t sent
off for a second caution, despite a VAR check.
The second half was packed with incident but one thing I do like
about this referee is he stays calm and doesn’t panic.
Then there was a Forest goal correctly disallowed for offside, a
penalty shout that was rightly dismissed and good use of VAR for
the red card. That was an appalling tackle. Gillett thought it
only worthy of a caution initially (maybe he didn’t have the
best angle) but Michael Oliver recommended an OFR and the yellow
was upgraded, rightly, to red.
I thought Gillett was better last week at Aston Villa but
nothing disastrous here, he still is in good form and his stock
seems to be rising this season because he is getting more on
field appointments rather than as a VAR, where he is weaker.

Anyone think Mr Oliver had to seriously convince Mr Gillett to
give a red there? Didn’t seem to judge it on the field as
anything more than a yellow, then took forever looking at a
still which showed no contact (the wrong angle). Then with the
right angles it still didn’t look a clear and obvious error.
I want to see our on field officials being firmer, sticking to
their guns from watching these incidents in real time close up.
Every single time they go with the VAR overturn without fail, a
waste lf everyone’s time. It’s a shame because until that
moment Gillett was having a good game.
