It didn’t have my full attention but I was pretty impressed with
Alex Chilowicz yesterday, he’s quite an enjoyable referee to
watch. I liked his rugby style demonstrations of why a foul was
given and also his somewhat enthusiastic delivery of yellow
cards. Seemed to communicate really well with players and other
than a couple of minor decisions, thought he had a really good
game. One to watch to see how he progresses. Well done to AR2
for a 94th minute flag as well to deny us an equaliser - good
decision in a pressured moment, albeit I would rather have not
seen it go that way!
I noticed he keeps his yellow card in his top pocket, which
isn’t too common!

Ok, I see where you’re coming from. However, what I’m trying to
say is that dissent isn’t ok but it wouldn’t have happened if
the decision was wrong. Our #30 got booked for dissent around
the 40th min fairly, however a couple of minutes before that a
Walsall player does the same thing but the referee brings over
the captain to speak to? To me, that doesn’t make any sense.

Let me correct that - it wouldn't have happened if your #30
didn't act like a spoiled kid and throw a tantrum instead of
acting like the professional he is meant to be.

To be fair he only went up to him then got booked. It was his
foul but Scott gave it the other way because he didn’t see the
first one on our #30.

Meanwhile Alex Chilowicz gets his first two games of Sutton v
Mansfield and MK Dons v Colchester. The best of luck to him!

An excellent referee good luck to him

Just out of curiosity, where is Mr. Chilowicz based in England?
I'm assuming it's the southern half of the country, having
officiated at MK Dons and Sutton United thus far.

Circular argument here. Who is going to show dissent against a
decision that was correct and that they agree with?
On your logic there can't ever be any dissent penalised, as it
only happens when decisions are clearly wrong and is therefore
permissible? Dissent is dissent, doesn't matter what the
decision is, if you gob off about it you risk getting cautioned
for it.

Our #30 also got booked for dissent after he got fouled first!
Our #7 and #2 both got booked for appealing about the penalty. I
was watching on I follow and I thought pen as soon as it
happened.
[/quote]
Eh? What penalty? Do you have a clip, as despite being at the
game (albeit at the opposite end to that Crewe were attacking
second half) I genuinely have no idea what incident you are
referring to that could come anywhere close to being a penalty
as there certainly didnt seem a very loud/sustained appeal from
the Crewe fans at that end as I recall.
Also, checking back and a couple of sites have the Crewe #7
(Long?) carded around 70' for a foul, not long after he had came
on as a sub, so certainly not for dissent in injury time.

My mistake, I thought Long was booked for dissent about the
penalty. It was into stoppage time, and there was some shouts
from many Crewe players and fans for a handball. That’s why our
#2 got booked because he was appealing.
Like I said, I was watching on ifollow and thought pen straight
away however I haven’t seen the incident again so my opinion may
differ if I see it for a second time.
