I don’t know what you think Acme (if you were there), but that
was an absolute shocker from Paul Howard today. Our red card I
didn’t see as I went toilet. Cheap free kicks being given.
Accrington conning him every time and he falls for it….
On Tuesday, our striker got booked for squaring up to the
linesman, yet the Accrington defender today didn’t?
Never booked the Accrington keeper for constantly time wasting
in the first half.

To be fair one of the more obvious replacements to be spotted on
the highlights (Mr Backhouse tends to comb his hair back rather
than tie it up 😀)

Oh well, here goes. Not having seen Paul Howard before, I
thought it might have been Stephen Martin or Riccardo Reubyn as
a late replacement, having the looks, physique and running style
of both. I personally don't think he had an absolute shocker,
although I've seen better at Crewe Alex this season. The red
card was a no-brainer, late and through on goal, so you could
take your pick but a red card all the way. However Paul took no
action apart from a free kick when an AS player clattered into
the back of a Crewe player close to AR1 shortly after. That
certainly deserved a yellow card. Paul was economical with his
whistle and arm signals, which was fine most of the time, but
caused confusion on occasions, notably in the 2nd half when he
wandered over to a AS player whilst waiting for a throw in to be
taken and then accompanied him slowly towards the touchline and
it was only then that the player was subbed. No-one in the main
stand had a clue what was going on. Another entertaining
afternoon at the Alex and what a finish, and I bet the Crewe
goalie is glad that we equalised at the death.

I wasn't at today's game, but haven't seen anything critical
from Rovers' fans about Alan Young's officiating today.
He did have to leave the game injured around the 90th minute,
believe Daniel Flynn the 4O took over in the middle.

Some game at Gresty Road! I came through Crewe on my way to
Wrexham, shouldn’t have bothered making the rest of the journey
and stayed for a much more enjoyable game!
Ollie Yates was impressive yesterday, was perhaps a touch
stricter on blowing the whistle than he could have been but
that’s nit picking. Red card looked correct to me, Evans was on
a yellow and Ollie seemed to go to his right pocket to get a
yellow out but instead gave a straight red. Other yellows looked
correct, including Taylor for a tantrum outburst that seems to
have become commonplace for him and some other of our players
this season…
AR1 was right in front of me and was a little slow keeping up
with play at times. 4O Ravel Cheosiaua was sporting long grey
hair, i’m not sure on his age but he could have been mistaken
for a manager at times! Kept a tight ship on the touchline and
got Ollie to come over and book one of the Wrexham staff for a
few too many words.
