My sentiments exactly. Never felt comfortable with Peyper in
charge, felt to me like there was always a clanger waiting to
happen. Still one can’t deny his record and good luck to him in
whatever lies ahead

Brousset was replaced at half time in Connacht. Not much
recovery time before first round of matches

I've never had any major issues with Peyper, an excellent
referee and thought he was harshly treated by fans.
Unfortunately, his world cup experiences were disappointing
(especially the last 2 versions missing out on a semi-final). I
wasn't convinced he would make 2027 to be honest either.
I do hope he stays in the game in some capacity - good luck to
Jaco, a great servant to the sport.

Pierre Brousset has been replaced by Nika Amashukeli as
assistant in the Italy vs England game so there is a good chance
he will also be replaced in the Ireland vs Italy game to.

Nothing like getting your excuses in early, just in case!

Of course the French wouldn't be happy.
I thought Karl has actually settled down now as an official -
previously I wasn't that convinced by him. However, in the World
Cup his best performance for me came during his replacement in
the quarter final.
Yesterday, I thought Ireland got a couple of decisions where I
actually thought they should have gone to the French. The big
decisions and 2nd yellow were correct for me.
Karl was certainly not the reason the French lost (who were
really poor last night). Ireland utterly destroyed them!
Overall, I thought the Englishman did well!!

Good involvement of TMO, although these offences need to be be
picked up on field if we are going to see improvements filter
further down. Agree thst a couple of the breakdowns did look
like hands on floor first but that would be nitpicking
Communication was good, general decision making was fine.
As was said on ITV commentary France missed Dupont much more
than Ireland missed Sexton.
Cant see anyone stopping the Irish, unless a nation plays out of
their skin

Thought he was fine, although he seemed to get a bit muddled
around 2nd YC around whether he still needed to send it to the
bunker (anyone know what the answer is?)
I still think Pearce is streets ahead of Dickson and Carley
though and don't fully understand why Pearce seems to have
fallen out of favour in past few months.

Because it's a foul play incident and so if they deem it a
straight red after review then he can be given a longer
suspension than an ordinary 2nd yellow

2 decent performances from the Kiwis - thought Williams was very
solid in Rome, both YCs spot on, managed the game well
Still seems to be unloved fully by WR. Would be good to see him
do Aus v SA later in the year
O'Keefe was good, basically let a mad game run itself. Good YC
after warnings and impressed he was "big" enough to say the head
contact he was shown was a rugby incident, with the arriving
player doing everything that was expected of him.
Interactions with players seemed good and thought he got most
decisions spot.on
A decent first weekend from an officiating point of view
