S A HOOPER - Man C v Tottenham

Oh dear, what has Hooper done at the end blowing up for a foul
when Grealish was clean through.
He’s been very good up until then and it’s a shame that he’s
done that.

A real shame. I would love to know why Simon let advantage
happen, but then end the advantage when the through ball was
played!
I say a shame as Hooper hadn’t done badly until then. A stain on
an otherwise good evening.

He did so well *not* to blow up initially but to then undo that
was crazy. I don’t understand how or why he did.

Awful decision for the advantage but what on earth has happened
to the clamp down on dissent. Referee surround, Grealish
screaming at the 4th whilst making a substitution and not a
blink of any sanction. Referees have to be stronger if anything
is ever going to change. Sooooo frustrating to watch them just
stand there taking it and doing nothing.
A mistake (of which I can sympathise with) does NOT excuse that
behaviour and you would never see that on a rugby or hockey
pitch!!

I spoke to soon on the thread!
Well it is certainly a very poor call to not allow advantage and
couldn't have come at a worse time, however I suspect anyone who
has refereed will have sympathy, we have all done this and worse
with advantages (I for one have a number of times) just a shame
with the timing and position in this case and of course the
profile.
The Man City players who surrounded Hooper, regardless of what
happened, should have at a bare minimum have been cautioned and
the few that maybe put their hands on him in that aggresive way,
for me, should have walked (while fully understanding Hooper
made the 'smart' call in ignoring it).

A classic situation where referees are held to a different level
of accountability than players.
- misses a literal open goal in the first half, and has a
generally poor game overall, but all is quickly forgiven.
- The referee has an excellent game, solid match control, strong
decision making, generally well respected. He makes one error
(certainly not as bad an error as the world’s best striker
missing an open goal given Grealish still had a lot to do) and
he’s ‘not fit to referee’ and ‘cheat’ and should be sacked. Just
some of the things I heard at the game, and saw on social media.
Human beings really are scumbags.

That will be really painful for him, as otherwise I thought he
was good. Sadly that’s what a lot of people will remember his
performance by.
Disciplinary action for dissent would’ve been well justified.

Up until the incident at the end he had been decent. But my
goodness what a howler. The sort you would expect on your local
park but not at this level. What was he thinking. I hope he has
a tin hat in his bag. Shame really because he won’t be
remembered for anything in this game except that decision

So players surround Referee...should have been sanctioned.
Some manhandle the Referee....more sanctions.
Failure to control? Club sanction?
Grealish confronts 4O. Firstly, why? What will he hope to
achieve?? Secondly, should have been sanctioned
If Haaland's outburst(s) have been picked up on comms or by 4O
he may have a bit of explaining to do
