Simon was having a really good game. Makes you wonder he he
heard something in his earpiece that made him blow when he did.
As for Haaland's response, absolutely outrageous.

I’d be happy to follow the betting advice of Whistleblower.
I would add that given the explosive nature he’s progressed into
effectively SG1 at this juncture, that he will probably be
deserving of a FIFA badge, given that some previous incumbents
have seemingly been bestowed such recognition with remarkable
ease.

Technically could be 2024, if there’s a slot available. In
theory, should be second season, but rule has been bent before -
think Andy Madley went straight on in the January of first
proper season (?). As SB did few taster games last season, maybe
this run of games this season is to get enough under his belt to
be nominated?
Not sure of ages and who’s due to come off, but as FA has
recently tried to shake things up a bit (moving aside Tierney
and Coote), maybe they’re looking to get newer, younger
promising refs on much quicker, as other countries do. Even so,
may be others in line first (Bramhall, who’s had a few uefa
fourth official appointments??)
Always interesting to see the predictions! And at least we’re
back to a point where we have competition / enough eligible refs
to do it - at one point under Hackett’s time, we only had 6 who
were even eligible!

Pawson and Taylor will be coming off in the next year or so. At
the moment I don't see anyone who can get them. Neither Bramall
or Barrott have been reffing regualrly in the top flight for 2
seasons.

Taylor has only just turned 45, UEFA won't be in any rush to
pension him off given he is one of their top elite officials.
Bjorn Kuipers carried on until he was 48, no reason Taylor can't
do the same. Pawson isn't 45 until March, probably not as
likely to get an extension but he still has a couple of years
left.

No time off for Attwell who was replaced because he had VAR duty
in rearranged Europa League tie between Villarreal and Maccabi
Haifa with Nicolas Walsh refereeing. Poor Attwell he will have
square eyes soon
