Average for me. Missed Garnacho kicking the ball away ( 3 other
officials can see that).
On the other hand, he did well to keep tensions low considering
Everton’s situation.

If the 'penalty' challenge had occurred in a League without VAR
and been waved away, I doubt that many folk would have been
overly exercised by it

Don’t forget a yellow card was also issued for cheating. If that
had been a second yellow, there might well have been plenty of
Everton minds exercised by it.

That was the big error here. I can understand Brooks missing
the ball being kicked away as his eyes were on the challenge and
any possible afters. Why did not any of the other three match
officials help him out by confirming that the offence had
occurred. He could have correctly cautioned Garnacho and then
correctly cautioned for dissent.
What is it they say about teamwork .....?
