Saturday evening's match between Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB
Stuttgart will be Dr Brych's 344th Bundesliga match as referee,
equalling and doubtless shortly to surpass the record of
Wolfgang Stark, for whom he spent two seasons as regular
assistant. The only other referee to have reached 300 games is
Dr Markus Merk, with 338.
Many congratulations to Dr Brych on this splendid record.

ACL injury apparently so looking at an extended period
recovering

An ACL injury for a referee isn't good. Unless one of the
Bundesliga clubs or the national team offer to treat him he
won't get anywhere near like the kind of treatment that top
level players get for ACLs. Hopefully he can recover from it,
but at 48 years old that is a very difficult injury to recover
from.
