This has been the worst performance by an official I’ve seen
this season, and it’s pretty scathing when this is a FIFA
official producing rubbish like this.
Any contact in the box is resulting in a defensive free kick (
or a penalty kick) which is excessively harsh, even when players
are legitimately challenging for the ball in the air.
The inconsistency in some of his other decisions is remarkable.
However, Dion Dublin in the commentary box has been woeful. He
makes Robbie Savage sound almost bearable!

Have to readily admit this referee’s performance is as poor as
I’ve seen at any level. The dreadful penalty aside, he has no
rapport with the players, has an aggressive attitude and to put
the icing on top of a very stale cake, any light bit of contact
is penalised.
Has no feel for the game and as a correspondent has remarked, it
all seems very robotic and stilted. No natural aptitude for the
game and I’ll be very surprised if we see this referee again.
Not good enough in any shape or form.

Reminds me of the type of performance you get from a volunteer
on a day where no referee has showed up. Horrendous and
inconsistent foul detection, constantly getting in the way of
players. Feel like we might not be seeing him again.

I would agree with you, however, I have a feeling UEFA and their
observer from Malta? will think differently.

Not the greatest showing from Mr Glova overall. Agree with most
of what's been said, light contact penalised, even jumping for
attacking headers - might as well outlaw jumping on that
evidence.
Three cautions - two for dissent and the other to Rico Lewis.
Three situations in the second half after the TAA caution where
booting the ball away went unpunished, including Lewis when
belted one into the net, was half expecting him to show a second
yellow for it. Didn't seem interested to card players for
holding or tripping offences to stop attacks/break up the rhythm
of play.
The more I watch games in UEFA comps, the more baffled I become
with the LOTG. And long VAR delays just make you fall out of
love with the game.

Think the only positive comment one could make on team referee
performance is the on field officials wore black.

I’m considering writing to trading standards, surely that fifa
badge is deliberate misrepresentation.

Don’t know what was worse, the referees performance or having to
listen to Dion Dublin for 90 minutes

Or do UEFA take a dim view of almighty Big Brother being
rejected by the on the field official after an OFR, because
that’s the sense and normality we are acquainting ourselves
with.
I cannot remember a single OFR being rejected by the referee in
a UEFA competition (happy to be corrected of course).

Our friend Mateu Lahoz certainly has correctly rejected at least
one in the past.

I thought it was probably a foul but shouldn't be a VAR
intervention. More of a shout for the one by Harry Maguire.
Really poor refereeing performance all round.
The last few weeks have shown that despite what 'fans' always
say 'English Referees are the worst in the world' and 'Other
countries have no issues' is complete rubbish. Between this
international break and the last European club fixtures, they
are clearly no better than what we have.
