       Rugby League appointments

       We often criticise through this site the apparent lack of
       imagination of those responsible for appointments when we see
       the same refs being allocated to the same teams within a short
       time.
       Well I see Rugby League has excelled all this week. In the
       opening round of matches last week Robert Hicks did St Helend v
       Wigan. This weekend, Round 2, he has Wakefield at home
       to........St Helens.
       Yes, I know there are not as many games , nor are there as many
       refs but this does seem a little lacking in thought from the
       powers that be.

       And just to compound it even more Hicks is on St Helens’ game
       again this weekend - the 3rd time in their opening 4 matches.
       Quite bizarre
