       Andy Madley- Luton vs Liverpool

Thought he did alright, nothing more. Missed a clear yellow for
a deliberate handball stopping an attack. Perhaps a few times he
ought to have blown his whistle, a bit hit and miss with foul
       detection.
Also, a poor decision from Harry Lennard to flag (presumably Mo
Salah offside) before Darwin Nunez made an even worse mistake by
       missing an open goal
Andy Madley is an inconsistent referee with very limited
personal skills in terms of managing a game, just like 95% of
       SG1
However, VAR Craig Pawson, mmm. Seems to have had some
controversy lately. An incident very similar but much more of a
penalty than the one given to Manchester City last weekend-
ignored today. We all suspected this would happen and its part
of the reason there was so much outrage last season. How is that
given but this isn't. There is 0 consistency.
Furthermore, the Barkley handball shout before the Luton goal,
well it personally shouldn't be given but we have seen them
given and based on the handball law and how it is interpreted,
surely it has to be a penalty. Its not at all consistent with
has has gone on this season, i.e. Michael Keane at Anfield and
       Saliba at Stamford Bridge.
Craig Pawson seems like one of the weaker VAR's (Which is quite
a difficult achievement), he doesn't intervene very often
(missed the Romero handball vs Man United)

For me, the Van Dijk penalty is ok as no penalty, as it looks
like Van Dijk might have put his hand on the Luton player first,
       so 50/50 for me.
As for the handball, it is one that is similar Eric Dier
handball back in 2020 I believe late on in a match that received
huge criticism from co-commentator Jamie Carragher saying that
those calls were ruining the game. So again, VAR is fine not to
       intervene for me.

The problem is VAR will intervene for two identical incidents
next weekend and they have done already this season

...... poor decisions are Harry Lennard's speciality.

Clear case of holding on van dijk, very similar to the
Manchester derby incident last week, I told everyone there would
be a similar incident this week and it wouldn’t be given

Credit to him for showing some humanity by not booking Luis Diaz
which, in the circumstances, was the right thing to do.
