If only there was some technology that could draw a calibrated
line in 3 dimensions to find out if one point that may be off
the ground is beyond another point that may be on the ground.
Even a Newcastle supporting colleague was laughing how that goal
stood, another shocker for var.
This bit may be the bias talking but does the ball not hit an
outstretched arm?

Re goal It's impossible to tell for 100% whether the full ball
is out or not so VAR right not to intervene
I know it took ages but there were so many factors that could've
led to a wrong decision. At least that based on the evidence we
have they got the decision correct.

The PGMOL have released the audio of the Newcastle vs Arsenal
game here is what was said for the Bruno elbow and the
disallowed goal, surely if you think the ball is out regardless
of the angle the goal should be ruled out
PGMOL have responded following today’s controversial decisions
at St James’ Park.
On Bruno Guimaraes elbow: “He's not used his arm as a weapon,
it's not nice but no more than a yellow card.”
On the Newcastle goal: “The ball looks out but we can't possibly
give it from that angle.”
On the push on Gabriel: “There's two hands on Gabriel's back but
we can't be sure it's a push.”
On Gordon being offside: “There's no conclusive evidence whether
Gordan is behind the ball, so stick with onfield decision.”

Strangely on a very similar incident at Old Trafford in the
Manchester United v Brighton game the VAR somehow decided that
the ball was definitely out of play despite no clear evidence
showing it was out of play.

The angles were quite different. They really aren’t comparable.
I’m particularly fed up of these in/out discussions, especially
when it’s not even the goal line.

I'm astonished by that comment. The interpretation of VC may
have changed slightly in recent times but when I think of the
RCs shown to Martial and Son for example a few years ago for
significantly less and which were deemed correct, the response
to BG's action is totally baffling imo.
And did Guimaraes somehow escape a YC in the game despite other
incidents? Unbelievable if so!

He did finally earn a YC towards the end of the match. The
incident in the first half is a clear red card as far as I’m
concerned.

1. Ball out of play - no picture, no angle has shown if whole
ball was out - play on
2. Hands in back - "we can't be sure it's a push" now I am very
worried about the quality of out officials! 2 hands, straight
arms in the players back, prevents him playing the ball - to me
it's at that point the goal should be disallowed.
3. Offside - I can live with an "inconclusive" outcome there
4. Foul Challenge YC - if the Arsenal player had caught the
Newcastle player with front foot to me it would definitely been
RC. The fact there is discussion shows not everyone believes it
should be RC, so onfield decision stands
5. Use of arm - off the ball, blindside, cheap shot, nasty- a
red in my.opinion
Tough day in a game where the sides seem to not like each other-
Newcastle did a job on Arsenal, pity the winner was so
controversial

If there was a possibility of a push should there not be
OFR,it’s a subjective desision and should be decided by the on
field referee
