he became a bit like a charging rhino. Heaven help any player
who got in his path during one of these charges.

Was Hackett always the ‘go to’ referee for the big games in his
       era?
I watched the FA cup semi highlights on a you tube posting where
he binned Tony Gale. Charging rhino is a great description. His
positioning though was terrible. As for the Gale red card, I
would call that even more arrogant that what he describes Dean
       as.

Sorry I’m just reminiscing on some posts from yesteryear lol.

Fulham did well not to appear on this list, after getting 2 in
one match versus West Brom from Mike Dean back in 2004 and being
PL mainstays for 13 seasons from 2001

I’m not sure of the exact stats but we always seemed to get Dowd
flashing red in our direction with regularity.

Yes, I was convinced Dowd hated Fulham until we saw the other
side of him at Craven Cottage, memorably against Spurs in the FA
Cup (2 penalties and a RC) and Man Utd (2 RCs, should have been
3 really as somehow Cristiano Ronaldo managed to avoid a 2nd
       yellow).
