"Off you pop" - Mike Dean's 100th red card

The champers may be on ice until next weekend, or later, but
Mike Dean's next red card will be the 100th he has given in the
Premier League.
For the statisticians amongst us:
Mike Dean - 470 games, 99 red cards (PL only)
Phil Dowd - 308, 67
Mike Riley - 283, 66
Graham Poll - 329, 63
Martin Atkinson - 367, 58.
So Mike's 100th - when it comes - will be unique and a record
unlikely to be broken for many years.
Teams given most red cards by Mike:
Chelsea, Man City - 9
Newcastle - 7
Arsenal - 6
Spurs, WBA, Stoke - 5
Sunderland, Birmingham, Charlton - 4.
First PL red card - N Solano (Ipswich v Newcastle, 2000/1)
Last PL red card - R Brady (Huddersfield v Burnley, 2018/9)
'Best team' to receive red cards - Courtois, Vertonghen,
Kompany, Koscielny, Zabaleta, Ballack, Matic, Mata, Wilshire,
Sterling, A Cole.
All stats c/o The Times, 2nd Feb 2019. I would copy this across
to 'Refs & Stats' for future reference, except that I cannot
find this thread under the new regime ;D

Nor can I!!! It'll be about somewhere so I will try and dig it

Contrast this with Gordon Hill who I think I'm right in saying
dismissed only one player (I think Jim Steele of Southampton) in
his league career. Of course fewer games and very different
times so not a valid comparison. As for the 'card shark from
the Wirrall, I'm pretty sure he will have got most of them
right.

Refereeing 470 Premier League games is very impressive! If he
continues next season then he has a strong chance of getting to
500.
I presume 470 is a record by some distance?
I'm a bit surprised not to see Steve Bennett's name on the list.

By my Soccerbase reckoning, Rob Styles managed 55 reds in just
211 games (although the numbers may be slightly out). I dread
to think the numbers he would have ended up with had he not
stopped early.
Research also flagged up that he twice had Football League
matches over the years which ended up 9v9!

I was there to see Mike Dean’s first red card, a clear handball
on the goal line from Solano.
Ipswich were third in the PL table after that game. Seems such
a long time ago now.

I saw Mike send off Razor Ruddock for foul and abusive language
soon after the Ipswich game. That was Crewe v Palace not long
after I moved to my adopted home town. But that was in the
Championship and the Palace equalised 1-1 with a few minutes to
go. Like Ipswich, how fortunes have changed. And those were the
days when foul and abusive language to an official meant a
certain early bath!

And how many has Kettle brandished in his 14 or so years?!! At a
guess he must’ve surpassed 100 in the FL.

If Mike Dean realises the aforementioned record then I might nip
to bookies and put £5 on it happening this weekend if he has a
PL middle
