SG1 in charge. His foul detection is woefull and that is being
kind. Leeds number 3 commits 3 poor fouls in a few minutes and
not even word. If this kicked off it would clearly be his fault.
Once again out of his depth. Really does not deserve that fifa
badge.

I thought he handled the game fairly good very calm and in
charge

It’s all about opinions. I just felt as he was before. Out of
his depth. The only reason he didn’t lose control was
surprisingly the players. No sorry. He was very very poor

The continuing problem is that many, myself included, will
always see Mr Attwell as a mediocre Ref who has been very
fortunate to get where he has, FIFA included. His favourable
treatment, possibly as a result of friends in high places, has
not been afforded to other refs and there are still refs out
there who many of us see as being better than him and worthy of
promotion or at least a trial but for whom the chance never
comes.
These perceptions, rightly or wrongly, are hard to throw off.
He has established himself on both the PL and FIFA but is little
more than an average Ref. His appointments would seem to justify
this too.

I believe in second chances especially when those who should
have had your proper interests at heart didn't look after you
well enough first time round. Yes, accelerated promotion before
one is ready for it is a disservice. No-one is going to refuse
it because that refusal would imperil your chances but Attwell
shouldn't have ben put in that position. Now I believe he is a
worthy enough member of SG1, better than Mason and East, about
the same as Friend and Scott but surely will be eclipsed very
soon ( if not already ) by Kavanagh and quite possibly by
Tierney.
FIFA badges, unless in the Elite Group, now mean very little,
it's just about whether you are in the right age group.

Indeed.I expect much more from a SG1 ref, and my comment was
based on all levels that I've seen referee games this season. As
a season ticket holder of 30 years and a staunch supporter of
referees in general, its getting very hard to defend the man in
the middle far too often nowadays. I have no interest in
anyone's history, only how they perform on the day and standards
on the whole are the worst I've seen.
