       M OLIVER - Arsenal v Man City

It’s not usual for us to criticise Oliver however Kovacic should
really have gone for two yellows.
The first could be argued yellow or red, however the second
offence is most definitely a yellow and he should have gone.

Kovacic very lucky to get away with a VAR check for SFP.
Probably correct but not sure why Michael Oliver hasn’t shown a
second yellow for a tackle. Makes no attempt to play the ball
       and get Declan Rice.

Great start from Oliver. But Oliver has made a massive mistake
not sending off Kovacic there, his first tackle was bad and
could have been a red, he’s just done exactly the same.

Personally felt the first yellow was SFP but I think given
tolerance expected in the EPL Brooks correct not to intervene.
Should have been a SYC though I think, mandatory caution in my
       view.

       error from Oliver there

He seemed from his appearance at the time he was 100% certain no
card for the second challenge. I agree the first one could have
been red. No var for the second one as they can’t intervene in
those circumstances. Lucky City there I feel

Very poor from Oliver to not issue a second yellow, I did notice
he didn’t get as much dissent, and I think it harks back to a
point made the other week, I think the likes of Brooks would get
a lot more in that situation.

Not talking with my Arsenal head on here but my brother who is a
chelsea fan and it been an ex chelsea player said he was very
lucky not to have a red for the first one and I intend to agree,
and he definitely should of got a second yellow for the 2nd but
other then that Olivier has let the game flow or tried to but
       it’s been really jiggly

Astonishing. Kovacic should have had a red card for SFP on the
first one (is Brooks intimidated because it’s Michael Oliver so
fails to send him to the monitor?) and not giving a yellow for
       the second is unbelievable.
I wonder what my Observer yesterday would have said if I’d
failed to apply Law like that.

Disregarding VAR or any reviews for SFP, it's very poor by
Oliver and he should suffer the same fate as his peers, as both
tackles were easily worthy of YCs, yes Kovacic could have gone
for the first one, but I cannot think of a single reason why he
didn't walk after the 2nd. I hope Webb comments on this.
