Why is it "industrial" language? Other "professions" would not
accept foul language, why should football?
Just a cheap excuse for players who cannot talk to referees
politely in the heat of battle

Was it not a Sunderland fan who earlier this week said "it's not
a derby?" So why the special treatment?

The problem is though he broke a promise to both managers that
he would manage the game with empathy.
Show me what empathy he displayed.
He refereed like he was in charge of a five year old child
having a birthday party.

What empathy has been shown while arguing with his decisions?
Where does it say in law that dissent will be punished except
for Sunderland, far too long players have acted like spoilt
children at a birthday party and now I am pleased to say a stop
is being put to it . Football is tarnished by the childish rants
that happen everytime something doesn't go their way, time has
come to grow up and get on with the game .

Nobody is asking for special treatment here just equatable
treatment, wasn’t a getting in a referees face was a swear word
a distance from the official it’s picked up pretty much every
game on tv microphones but every other ref handles it properly.
Equally wouldn’t have been an issue if gillet had did his job
and actually gave the foul, something he was very inconsistent
with that and cards throughout the game but keep glossing over
that part.

[/quote]I apologise I m8ght be being a bit dim but I'm still
struggling here , could you please quote me which law from LOAF
that Mr Gillett has applied incorrectly because I'm not getting
it. You say other referees would deal with it correctly? But Mr
Gillett has given a second caution for being sworn at by a
player from distance, the only thing incorrect could be it
should have been straight red ? Is that the complaint ?

Special treatment? This is a thing that will happen in every
other game this weekend but will not a booking in any of them

Sworn at by a player looking the other way, the officials have
heard a comment and blew it up. Once again if we apply the rules
you want the game ends with no players on the pitch.
You’re also conveniently ignoring the rest of the post
simulation is a yellow card but at 0-0 he bottled sending
greenwood off for that after he bottled sending greenwood off
for a late high challenge both for 2nd yellow cards why is he
picking and choosing what laws apply in the game?

Interesting discussion here. Mr Gillett seems particularly
strict on dissent and I have no problem with that. Perhaps the
only gripe that could be had is that other refs aren’t as strict
so his decisions appear harsher. That said, in no other
profession would it be acceptable for someone to shout, swear
and gesticulate at the person in charge, so if it takes a few
red cards to hopefully bring some decorum back into the game
then bring them on. Hopefully more refs take a similar approach
and players will have to adjust their language and temperament
to something more appropriate.

It was myself.
My side have been beaten badly in the past and no doubt will
suffer humiliation in the future as will every other side but
all we ask is that if a referee says he will manage with empathy
he keeps his promise.

How do you know he said he "would manage with empathy"? Were
you in the pre-match briefing?
