John Brooks (Luton vs Spurs)

Decent start of the game from Brooks. However its very harsh to
disallow the Luton goal. Probably correct for Michael Oliver not
to intervene. But the spurs defender has hold of the attackers
shirt to start with. Then Romero just falls over.

Excellent second YC for a dive by Bissouma.

It was a clear foul for the disallowed goal, Adebayo pushed
Romero with two hands in the chest and stopped him challenging
for the ball.
Great decision for Bissouma's second caution, he can have no
complaints.

Thought he may have cautioned Luton player for pulling back
Maddison twice while heading for the box

Thought John Brooks has definitely been one of the better
referees this season, even though most people at the game itself
felt he was a bit “knit-picketty” and didn’t let much go.

John Brooks has been one of the standout referee's for me so far
this season. Every time I have seen him he has been excellent!

Finally a player punished for simulation, seems to have become a
forgotten law since VAR was introduced!

Let’s not forget that Brooks is another who ‘unofficially’ won’t
he officiating Liverpool for the foreseeable due to Klopp’s
rants and his poor display at Newcastle.

As much as I don't like John Brooks style, I think its overly
aggressive (the way he gives cards, almost pushing it into the
player) to his credit, unlike the majority of SG1 referees, he
is happy to take a big decision.

The joke of it is Liverpool have benefitted more than most since
VAR’s inception!!
Brooks was excellent here at Luton, on top of everything and
barely put a foot wrong. Would be nice to now see other players
booked for simulation as opposed to just Bissouma. Whilst he
can have absolutely no complaints, we need to see consistency
with other players.
