Really pleased for Sam Barrott - I think we all knew a debut was
coming his way but nobody would have predicted just how soon!
Think Robinson can count himself unlucky - deserved another
appointment after his showing last night. Oliver, on the other
hand, perhaps fortunate. Our best referee, yes, but many others
acting as VAR and failing to award the stonewall penalty to
Brentford for the foul by the keeper would not be seen for the
weekend.

As someone who was christened Samuel, I have always been called
Sam. My mother called me Samuel and I always associate it with
trouble! Is it Samuel Barrott or Sam? I have seen both which is
unusual. Anyhow, I wish him well as I do all the others as
knocking referees appears to be the norm. Good luck.

Joins Pawson, England, Brammall, A.Madley, B.Madley, Atkinson,
Moss, Rennie, Riley & Webb as Yorkshire refs to referee a PL
game.

You surely (don't call me Shirley) must remember me banging on
about this, where I used the term 'rookie' and questioned why
it's always Fulham. Bond was a bit of a disaster, Bramall did OK
IIRC and I'm a big fan of Josh Smith, but still why are we the
'testing ground'? Yorkshire based referee for a Yorkshire based
team, is that a good idea on his PL debut? Saying that, has to
be better than Darren England which was being mooted elsewhere!

I’m not sure that really matters, as long as he doesn’t support
either sheffield team, which would appear to be the case.
