Well, we score and the linesman didn’t have his flag up. Crewe
players see he doesn’t so run off to celebrate and he then puts
his flag up after at least 7/8 seconds after the goal. 2 crewe
players were surrounding the ref, whilst that was happening,
Salford restarted play without Tom blowing his whistle, and with
most of the Crewe team still in our attacking half, they score.
Have a listen to the Crewe manager’s post match interview. Many
Salford fans agree with what he said. It generally was very poor
       officiating.

I have now seen the brief highlights and listened to some Crewe
fans who were at the game, and both confirm what you said. Being
a free kick, the Crewe players didn't need to be in their own
half nor was Tom required to blow his whistle to restart play.
However, what followed was dire, as evidenced by the fact that
the TV camera only picked up on the Salford attack as they bore
down on the Crewe goal. The mistake on the part of Tom was
basic, and he could and should have stopped play as soon as he
realised that there was a problem. And why did the ARs or 4O not
help out if Tom genuinely didn't realise there was a problem.
OK, I'm a Crewe fan, but, in this instance, I feel there was
every justification for play being pulled back at any time until
Crewe kicked off following the Salford goal, and Tom's failure
to do so was in my view very poor.

Having caught up with the EFL highlights, I’d agree with this
too. It’s not too dissimilar in principle to the Jacob Miles
incident at Gillingham recently. Yes, Tom Kirk hasn’t made a
mistake by rule but (and I know some probably hate this
phrase!), common sense officiating is needed. Allowing Salford
to capitalise on a hugely delayed officiating decision isn’t
       fair.
As an analogy, It’d be a bit like a defending team bringing on a
centre back for a corner and the ref allowing the attacking team
to take the corner while he’s still running back. It just
doesn’t happen to avoid controversial moments like this.

Another typically average performance from Alan Young, 11
       yellows and 3 reds 😳

It was 14 yellows and 3 reds..
Incidentally both sides were fined for their part in the mass
       brawl.
