Just spotted SG1 Natalie Aspinall up at Barrow this weekend.
Perhaps a bedding in game after some time away at the World Cup

Not seen that much of Mr Purkiss, but he's not afraid to produce
a RC for fouls endangering an opponent.

Kirk has not had a very good half. Gave an offside where his
assistant didn’t flag. Giving very soft free kicks. Needs to
improve.

My preconception of Sam were nothing to be concerned about, he
set the tone early with a booking for breaking up a counter,
followed by another for kicking the ball away and one for an off
the ball trip. Not a great view of the red but believe AR1/4O
saw a kick out on Tovide by Connelly. Penalty at the end looked
correct for handball. Perhaps he was a little lenient on
timewasting but definitely seen worse, nothing to moan about.
Excellent performances by two of the three teams out there, with
Colchester far off Morecambe and the officials…

What’s the story for Salford’s second? Alex fans, officials and
players kicking up a storm about it. Apparently a delayed flag
followed by a Salford goal immediately? Without seeing anything
from the game, Tom Kirk is a great young official but when it
goes wrong for him, I have seen it go very wrong.

Well, we score and the linesman didn’t have his flag up. Crewe
players see he doesn’t so run off to celebrate and he then puts
his flag up after at least 7/8 seconds after the goal. 2 crewe
players were surrounding the ref, whilst that was happening,
Salford restarted play without Tom blowing his whistle, and with
most of the Crewe team still in our attacking half, they score.
Have a listen to the Crewe manager’s post match interview. Many
Salford fans agree with what he said. It generally was very poor
officiating.

Then straight from Salford’s goal, before the restart, Tom sent
off our assistant manager who never ever gets angry which proves
that there must’ve been a mistake. I know referees are human,
like me, but when that “offside” happens to them scoring…. It
was a circus!
