I thought Craig was out of his depth with this fixture, and
looked like a deer caught in the headlights.
Foul detection seemed lacking, and he let a lot go unpunished
which in turn, meant hightened emotions and flash points later
       on in the game.
Biggest talking point was the foul by Chan on Walker after he
was already YC'd. Any other time on the pitch, without Chan
already being on a YC and it would have been a yellow. Chan knew
it, and sat on the floor for a while after the foul seemingly
not wanting to face the second yellow, which never came. A
staggering decision which, naturally, had more meaning to it
given that Chan scored the winner.
I also thought he missed a foul on a Wolves player (Neto?) in
the lead up the decision for a free kick, that Alvarez then
       scored from.
If this is the standard of our best, then English elite
refereeing is in a bad place, imo.

Haven’t seen this game, but I quite like pawson as a referee
generally, the past few seasons he was probably 3rd best behind
Oliver and Taylor Imo. That said his form seems to have taken a
dip recently, Newcastle V Brentford wasn’t his best game either.

Went to my local game Huddersfield v Ipswich yesterday* so
haven't caught up on watching this game and only going on what's
been reported. Last season, along with Simon Hooper, Craig
Pawson was one of the most improved officials on the SG list,
but sounds like both not reaching that level yet this season. As
mentioned on another thread I didn't think Anthony Taylor was at
his best in the only Prem game I've seen live so far either.
       * Mr Eltringham had a steady game, though wonder if VAR would
have taken a different view on the Ipswich penalty
       claims...something we'll never know :)
