Another Tierney match for Fulham this season and we are only on
matchday 6…
Jones is clearly being pushed.. potential heir to the throne of
Taylor?
[/quote]
And it’s only his 3rd game !

Do we know which SG1 referees have the Middlesbrough and Stoke
games in the EFL this weekend?

That's a great appointment for Jones - it'll be some test though
given this will be the closest and possibly most important NL
derby for several years. Should also be an intense atmosphere in
the Emirates. Hope it all goes well.

It is really poor that the NL Derby has been scheduled on the
same weekend as Yom
Kippur - the Jewish Day of Atonement, given the fan base of
these clubs.

Without wishing to comment specifically on this fixture and it's
timing, I was saddened some years ago when professional football
matches started to happen on Good Friday. I suppose every person
makes their own decisions as informed by their religious or
philosophical beliefs or lack of them. Personally I do not
attend football matches on Good Friday, whilst respecting the
rights and decisions of those who do.

I presume that any match official who did not wish to officiate
on a Holy Day in their tradition would be respected by the
appointing authorities in closing that date.

You would imagine so but I rather suspect there is a limit to
their tolerance levels. A top level official deciding that
working on a Sunday wasn't for them might not go down too well
and observance of the Jewish Sabbath might be a problem too.
