WHU v MCFC - Andrew Madley - Corner Kicks

Am I missing something in the Laws, guidance, advice, rulings or
whatever about where players may stand to take corner kicks?
Having watched the replay of the game I noted that on two
occasions the match officials intervened (one to each side) when
two players lined up to take a corner kick. Both times it was
deemed that both players could not be outside the pitch, i.e.
one behind the goal line ready to take an inswinging corner and
the other outside the side line ready to take an outswinging
corner. Both times one of the players was told that he must
have at least one foot touching the line.
Other than that and a tendency to position himself to block off
square passes it was, in my view, a fair performance by Mr
Madley.

Interesting question and obviously something officials have been
told to be sharp on - maybes tactic that was spotted in previous
games? I guess it amounts to one player ‘leaving FOP without
permission’, as only one is talking corner?? Like a forward
can’t deliberately stand off the pitch at side of goal and then
run in.

There was another incident which attracted some comment from
City fans, It was the foul throw decision against Bernardo.
For me it was a simple decision Bernado did not take the ball
behind his head, so it is by definition a foul throw. However a
quirky point in the wording of Law 15 was raised about the
sentence "The ball is in play when it enters the field of play."
Note that this is not qualified, for example as; The ball is in
play when the ball has left the thrower's hands and it enters
the field of play. So if we assume that IFAB have given full
and detailed attention to the framing of this law (as they seem
to have done to the description as to how the ball should be
thrown) then can we assume that the ball must be released before
the ball starts to cross the touchline and failure to do should
result in a free kick to the opposition for handball.....?

I am not so sure that that is the point of the wording. I
suspect it means that if a throw is taken from a couple of yards
behind the touchline, then the ball is not in play until it
crosses the touchline and therefore can't be played by anyone
else. If it was, presumably the same ruling would apply as if
the ball had bounced before it reached the field of play.
I am afraid I don't share your confidence about the full
detailed framing of Law 15. Rather more accuracy could be
introduced by using words like "released" rather than "thrown"
(which point of the throwing motion does "thrown" refer to?).
"Throw the ball with both hands": it doesn't mention whether
equal force must be used with each hand. Should it? Nor is a
continuous motion specified as surely it should be. It's no
wonder "foul throws" are demanded left, right and centre every
week and routinely ignored.
